Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups cubed watermelon
  • 2 cups water Divided into 1 cup for blending and 1 cup for dilution
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • to taste optional sweetener (honey, powdered monkfruit sweetener, sugar, or liquid Stevia)
For Garnish
  • as needed pieces mint, lime, or watermelon wedges

Method

Preparation
  1. Place watermelon, sweetener, and 1 cup of water into a high-speed blender. Blend well.
  2. Taste the mixture and add more sweetener if desired, then blend again.
  3. Strain the liquid into a pitcher and add the remaining 1 cup of water.
  4. Add ice to glasses and pour the agua fresca over the top.
  5. Add fresh lime juice to each glass and stir. Taste and adjust with more lime if needed.
  6. Garnish with lime wheels, mint, or watermelon wedges as desired.

Notes

Serve immediately for best flavor. Store leftovers in a sealed pitcher in the refrigerator for up to two days. Skipping the straining will retain more nutrients, though the texture may be less smooth.
