Ingredients
  

Fruits and Sweetener
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries Use frozen for a cold texture
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries Wash and hull before use
  • 1/2 cup lime juice Freshly squeezed is best
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or your sweetener of choice Adjust based on desired sweetness
  • 60 millilitres non-alcoholic rum Optional, can use bitters for flavor
  • 1/4 cup water Add if needed for consistency

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Add 2 cups frozen strawberries and 1/2 cup fresh strawberries to the blender.
  2. Pour in 1/2 cup lime juice.
  3. Add 1/2 cup maple syrup or your chosen sweetener.
  4. Add 60 millilitres non-alcoholic rum or a couple of drops of bitters if desired.
  5. Blend on low, then increase speed to high until smooth.
  6. If too thick, add 1/4 cup water gradually until desired texture is achieved.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
  8. Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with a fresh strawberry slice and a lime wedge.

Notes

For a healthier version, reduce sweetener and use more lime juice. This drink stores well in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours or can be frozen for longer storage.
