Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2.5 cups 2 ½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cups ¼ cup (50g) sugar
  • 0.5 tsp ½ tsp salt
  • 0.5 cups ½ cup (120ml) warm milk
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp (30g) melted butter
  • 1 packet 1 packet (7g) instant yeast
  • 1 large 1 egg
  • 0.5 tsp ½ tsp vanilla extract
Streusel Topping Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cups ¾ cup (150g) white granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.5 cups ½ cup (115g) cold butter, cubed

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Mix the Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, combine 2 ½ cups flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture along with melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Knead the Dough
  1. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5-10 minutes. Place the dough back into the bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
Make the Streusel Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 ½ cups of flour, ¾ cup of sugar, and cinnamon. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend in cold cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Chill the streusel in the refrigerator.
Assemble the Cake
  1. After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface and transfer it to a greased baking dish or pan. Evenly spread the streusel topping over the dough.
Bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. For a healthy twist, add a dollop of Greek yogurt and some fresh berries.
