Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 2 cups almond flour Use blanched almonds if making from scratch.
  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar Adjust sweetness as desired.
  • 1 tsp rose water Provides floral flavor.
  • ½ tsp almond extract Enhances the almond flavor.
  • 2-3 tbsp water Add gradually to form dough.

Preparation
  1. If using whole almonds, blanch them in boiling water for about 1-2 minutes, then drain and peel.
  2. Grind the almonds into a fine flour using a food processor. Sift the ground almonds to achieve a smooth texture.
Mixing
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour and powdered sugar, mixing them well.
  2. Stir in the rose water and almond extract.
Forming the Dough
  1. Gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, until a pliable dough forms.
Kneading
  1. Turn the dough out onto a clean surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
Shaping and Storing
  1. Shape the marzipan into a log or ball, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or wax paper.
  2. Refrigerate to allow flavors to meld and improve texture.

Notes

Marzipan can be shaped into figures or sliced into pieces. Pair with fresh fruits for a nutritious snack. Store wrapped tightly in the refrigerator or freeze for longer storage.
