Ingredients
  

For the bread
  • 2 cups mixed dried fruits, chopped
  • 1 cup nuts (walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts), chopped
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup honey or brown sugar
  • ½ cup milk or dairy substitute
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 zest orange

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Chop the dried fruits and nuts into small pieces for even distribution in the bread.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) or your air fryer to a similar temperature.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground cloves.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, honey (or brown sugar), milk, vanilla extract, and orange zest.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped fruits and nuts gently.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. If using an air fryer, check for doneness after 35-40 minutes.
  3. Allow the bread to cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

For storage, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze in individual slices for up to 2-3 months.
