Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup homemade strawberry jam Store-bought jam can also be used

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. This is your dry mix.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract into the butter mixture.
  5. Mix in the cream cheese until everything is combined and smooth.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  8. Make an indent in the center of each cookie with your finger or the back of a spoon.
  9. Fill the indent with a small amount of strawberry jam.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  11. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days or freeze for 1-2 months.
