Ingredients

  • 3 medium strawberries Fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 4 to 6 leaves basil leaves Fresh basil leaves
Liquids and Sweeteners
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sweetener of choice Erythritol or stevia for low-calorie options
  • 1 cup sparkling water Chilled sparkling water

Preparation
  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly to remove any dirt or chemicals and hull them by removing the green tops.
  2. In a glass, muddle the strawberries, basil leaves, lime juice, and sweetener together for about 1 minute.
  3. Top the mixture with sparkling water and give it a gentle stir to combine all the flavors.
  4. Add ice to your glass and optionally garnish with a whole basil leaf or a strawberry slice on the rim.

Notes

This mocktail is best served fresh. The strawberry and basil mixture can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Add sparkling water just before serving to maintain fizz.
