These crescent squares feature a delicious blend of spinach, red pepper, and carrots mixed with cream cheese and Parmesan, all wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough. They are perfect for parties or as a healthy snack option.

Filling Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter For sautéing
  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 10 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped water chestnuts
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Dough
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Warm the butter in a medium sauté pan and sauté green onions, peppers, garlic, and carrots for 3–4 minutes.
  2. Add spinach and cream cheese; stir until smooth.
  3. Mix in salt, black pepper, paprika, crushed red pepper flakes, mayonnaise, lemon juice, water chestnuts, and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Unroll one crescent sheet and press seams together to form a single sheet.
  5. Spread the filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
  6. Add the second dough sheet on top and seal the edges.
Baking
  1. Bake at 375°F for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Cool slightly and cut into squares.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. For healthy portions, cut into 12 or 16 small squares.
