Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Layering
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, then half of the caramelized onions and bacon, and a sprinkle of cheese. Repeat layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Pour the cream mixture over the layered potatoes.
Baking
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle with remaining cheese, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly, garnish with parsley, and serve.
