Preparation

- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream with minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika until just warmed.
Layering
- Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish, followed by half of the creamy mixture and half of the cheddar cheese.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Baking
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a healthier version, consider using half-and-half or a blend of low-fat milk and Greek yogurt. This dish can be made ahead of time and stored properly.
