Ingredients
  

Potatoes and Dairy
  • 4 large large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream Can substitute with a healthier alternative.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Spices and Flavorings
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Other
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for greasing Can be replaced with a non-stick spray.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream with minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika until just warmed.
Layering
  1. Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish, followed by half of the creamy mixture and half of the cheddar cheese.
  2. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.
  3. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  2. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  3. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using half-and-half or a blend of low-fat milk and Greek yogurt. This dish can be made ahead of time and stored properly.
