  • 2 cups fresh lemon balm leaves Rinse and pat dry before use.
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice Adjust to taste.
  • 2 tbsp honey or sweetener of choice Optional, or skip for a diabetic-friendly version.
  • 4 cups filtered water For boiling.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all ingredients on a clean countertop.
  2. Boil 4 cups of filtered water in a saucepan.
  3. Rinse the lemon balm leaves under cold water and pat dry.
  4. Once boiling, remove water from heat and add the lemon balm leaves; steep for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Strain out the leaves, stir in lemon juice, and sweeten with honey.
  6. Serve hot or over ice, garnished with extra lemon slices or mint sprigs.

Notes

For diabetic-friendly versions, skip the honey or use a zero-calorie sweetener. Store cooled tea in a sealed pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. For freezing, leave out sweetener and add upon thawing.
