Materials
  • 1 piece 3/4 inch thick wood (approximately 10 x 10 inches in size) Serves as the base for your pumpkin string art.
  • Common nails varies Nails (between 3/4 inch and 1 inch long) Used to create the outline of the pumpkin.
  • 3 skeins Pumpkin orange embroidery thread Used to fill the pumpkin shape.
  • 1 skein Brown embroidery thread Used for the pumpkin's stem.
  • 2 skeins Dark orange embroidery thread Used for the border of the pumpkin.
  • 1 pair Scissors To cut the embroidery thread.
  • 1 roll Tape To secure the pumpkin template to the wood.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all the supplies and materials listed above.
  2. Print a pumpkin string art template.
  3. Cut out the shape of the pumpkin template roughly and tape it to the center of your wood board.
Assembly
  1. Carefully hammer nails around the outline of the pumpkin, leaving about 1/2 inch sticking out.
  2. Tie the pumpkin orange embroidery thread to one of the nails on the edge of the pumpkin and weave in a zigzag pattern.
  3. Continue filling the pumpkin shape by weaving the pumpkin orange thread back and forth.
  4. Once the pumpkin is fully covered, tie off the orange thread securely to one of the nails.
  5. Switch to the brown embroidery thread to create the shape of the stem.
  6. Use dark orange embroidery thread to create a border around the pumpkin.
Final Touches
  1. Ensure all strings are tied off securely and trim any excess thread.
  2. Remove tape and template; the DIY Pumpkin String Art is now complete.
