Method
Preparation
- In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of almond milk, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are mixed thoroughly.
Cooking
- Heat the mixture over medium heat. Be sure to stir often and observe the temperature. You want it warm, but not boiling, to preserve the nutrients and flavors.
- Once the hot chocolate is warm, pour it into mugs. If you’re feeling a bit indulgent, top with whipped coconut cream.
- For an extra touch, sprinkle pumpkin spice on top.
Serving
- Serve the Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate warm and enjoy every sip.
Notes
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat as needed. Meal Prep: Can be made in advance and whisk before reheating. Variations: Add a scoop of protein powder or use different non-dairy milk. Adjust sweetness with more maple syrup if desired.
