Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Sugar Alternatively, experiment with lower-calorie sweeteners.
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Canned Pumpkin Puree Gives the syrup its delectable pumpkin flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice Adds the quintessential fall flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Crucial for adding depth and richness.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice, stirring to combine.
  3. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Allow the syrup to cool slightly, then strain the mixture into a jar using a fine-mesh strainer.
  6. Store the syrup in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Notes

For a lower-calorie version, consider substituting the sugar with a natural sweetener like stevia. Store in a sealed jar in the fridge, and it’ll thicken slightly as it cools.
