For the Mocktails
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate juice Fresh pomegranate juice can be used.
  • 1/2 piece lime, cut in wedges Use fresh lime for best flavor.
  • 6 to 8 leaves mint leaves Clap the leaves to release aroma before adding.
  • 1 cup soda water or ginger ale Use soda water for a healthier option.
  • to taste none non-alcoholic rum Optional for added flavor.
  • to taste none sweetener Use a no-calorie sweetener for a diabetic-friendly option.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the lime wedges and sweetener (if using) into a tall glass.
  2. Use a muddler to gently press and muddle the lime, ensuring all the juice is extracted.
  3. Pour 1/4 cup of pomegranate juice into the glass with the muddled lime.
  4. Clap the mint leaves together in your hands to release their natural aroma.
  5. Add the mint leaves to the glass and give them a gentle press with the muddler to infuse their flavor.
  6. Fill the glass with plenty of ice, then top off with soda water or ginger ale.
  7. Stir the drink well to combine all ingredients.
  8. Garnish your mocktail with a few pomegranate seeds, a fresh sprig of mint, and a lime wedge.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. To maintain fizz, add soda just before serving.
