Method
Preparation
- Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by crushing them in a zip-top bag.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese and stir until well combined.
- Roll the mixture into small balls, about one inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Freeze the rolled Oreo balls for about 30 minutes.
Coating and Decoration
- Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring in between.
- Dip each frozen Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
- Melt the red and blue candy melts according to package instructions and drizzle them on top of the white chocolate-coated Oreo balls.
- Finish by adding sprinkles for a festive look.
Serving
- Refrigerate the decorated Oreo balls until the chocolate is set. Serve at your July 4th celebration.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can freeze them for longer storage. For a healthier option, use reduced-fat cream cheese or sugar-free candy melts.
