Ingredients

Fruits and Base Ingredients
  • 1 large orange, sliced into rings
  • 1 large lemon, sliced into rings
  • 35 ml maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 1 large green apple, sliced into wedges
  • 150 ml orange juice
  • 750 ml bottle of alcohol-free red wine or juice alternative
  • 500 ml sparkling beverage of your choice

Method

Preparation
  1. Place the sliced orange, lemon, and sweetener in a large glass pitcher.
  2. Muddle gently until the juice is released from the fruit.
  3. Add the apple wedges and orange juice to the pitcher, followed by the non-alcoholic wine or juice alternative.
  4. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
  5. Refrigerate for at least one hour; for best results, let it infuse for 3-4 hours.
  6. Taste your sangria and add more sweetener if needed, adjusting it to your liking.
  7. Just before serving, add your sparkling beverage and stir gently to combine.
  8. Serve over ice and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftover sangria in the refrigerator for up to three days. Avoid freezing as the texture of the fruits may change. For a healthy low-calorie version, replace maple syrup with a natural sweetener like stevia. For a warm version, bake the fruits at 350°F for 15-20 minutes.
