Ingredients

For the Margarita
  • 1 oz lime juice, freshly squeezed or bottled
  • 1 oz grapefruit juice (optional) Can be omitted for a lighter flavor.
  • 1 oz orange juice, freshly squeezed or bottled
  • 4 oz lime sparkling water Top drink with this after shaking.
  • 0.5 oz agave syrup Can substitute with a sugar-free sweetener.
  • 1 oz alcohol-free tequila (optional)
  • 1 pieces fresh lime for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. To create the optional salt rim, place about 1/2 teaspoon of salt into a shallow dish. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and press gently into the salt. Shake off any excess.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine lime juice, orange juice, grapefruit juice (if using), non-alcoholic tequila (if using), and agave syrup.
  3. Add 3-4 cubes of ice to the shaker.
  4. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  5. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  6. For a sparkling version, top with the lime sparkling water.
  7. Garnish with a fresh lime slice and serve.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can store the juice mixture in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Not recommended for freezing.
