M&M Bunny Cookies

Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten and at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup milk chocolate pastel M&Ms For decorating cookies and making bunny faces.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix just until a dough forms.
Baking
  1. Scoop dough into balls about 2–3 tablespoons each and place 2–3 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges begin to lightly brown.
  3. Remove from oven and immediately press nine M&Ms into each cookie to form a bunny face.
  4. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store baked cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze baked cookies for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature or warm in a low oven before serving.
