  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Can be swapped with coconut sugar for lower sugar version.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Filling and Decoration
  • 1/4 cup fruit jam (e.g., apricot, raspberry, strawberry) Choose low-sugar jam for healthier option.
  • 1 large egg Beaten for egg wash.
  • 1 tablespoon water For mixing with egg for egg wash.
  • optional edible flowers for decoration

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, powdered sugar, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough and cut it into flower shapes using a flower-shaped cookie cutter.
  4. Place half of the flower cutouts on a baking sheet.
  5. Add a small dollop of fruit jam to the center of each flower.
  6. Top with the remaining flower cutouts and press the edges to seal.
  7. Brush the top with egg wash.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Let cool and decorate with edible flowers if desired.

Notes

These pies can be served warm or at room temperature. Pair them with Greek yogurt and fresh fruit, a small salad, or soup for a balanced meal. They store well in an airtight container and can be frozen for longer storage.
