Ingredients
  

For the Dip
  • cup cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil Make sure to use high-quality olive oil.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped You can substitute with other fresh herbs if desired.
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Adjust according to your spice preference.
  • ¼ teaspoon salt Use more or less to taste.
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper Optional.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning For additional flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced Use more for a stronger garlic flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese Omit for a vegan version.
  • 1 tablespoon aged balsamic vinegar Add just before serving.
  • 1 serving warm crusty bread for dipping Or use gluten-free bread or fresh veggies.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pour the olive oil into a small serving dish or shallow plate, creating a base for your dip.
  2. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, minced garlic, chopped basil, crushed red pepper flakes, black pepper, salt, and grated Parmesan cheese over the olive oil.
  3. Just before serving, drizzle the aged balsamic vinegar over the mixture for an extra layer of flavor.
Serving
  1. Pair with warm, crusty bread for dipping, or serve with raw veggies.

Notes

Store the dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3–4 days. Add balsamic just before serving. This dip can be part of a low calorie plan when portioned appropriately.
