Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree, water, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Stir to mix everything together before putting it on the heat.
Cooking
  1. Stir the mixture over medium heat until the sugar completely dissolves (about 3-4 minutes).
  2. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Cooling and Storing
  1. Let the syrup cool before transferring it to a clean jar. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
