  • 3/4 cup Sugar Can reduce or use alternatives like stevia or coconut sugar for a diabetic-friendly option.
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour Helps to thicken the pie filling.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Enhances flavor profile.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg Adds depth to the flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Balances sweetness and prevents browning.
  • 1 tablespoon Butter Can be replaced with coconut oil for a lighter option.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with 3/4 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice until well-coated.
Assembly
  1. Place one pie crust in your pie dish with edges hanging over slightly.
  2. Fill it with the apple mixture and distribute the apples evenly.
  3. Dot the top of the apple filling with small pieces of butter (or coconut oil).
  4. Cover with the second pie crust, pressing the edges together to seal.
  5. Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Baking
