Ingredients
  

Pastry and Fillings
  • 1 sheet puff pastry sheets Thawed if frozen
  • 8 slices ham Thinly sliced
  • 8 slices cheese (such as cheddar or Swiss) Any cheese of choice
For Egg Wash and Seasoning
  • 1 large egg For brushing on top
  • to taste salt For seasoning
  • to taste pepper For seasoning

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into squares.
  3. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese in the center of each square.
  4. Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and seal the edges with a fork.
  5. Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Serve warm with a crisp salad.

Notes

These puffs can be made ahead of time by freezing before baking. Serve with mustard, ketchup, or chutney for dipping, and pair them with a green salad.
