Ingredients

Marinade for Steak
  • 1 lb sirloin steak (or flank steak, cut into thin strips)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Use low-sodium for healthier version.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional) Optional for added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, and paprika until well combined.
  2. Add the steak strips to the marinade and toss well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
Cooking
  1. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat until very hot. Lightly brush or spray the pan with oil to help prevent sticking.
  2. Add the steak strips in a single layer, working in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding.
  3. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until seared and cooked to your preferred doneness.
  4. Transfer the steak strips to a plate and let them rest for 2 to 3 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For a healthier version, reduce honey or use a sugar-free sweetener. Best served warm over salad greens or with vegetables and whole grains.
