Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until no flour is visible.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set; the centers will look slightly soft.
  2. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm with a glass of milk or with ice cream. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week or frozen for up to three months.
