Ingredients

Pasta and Shrimp
  • 8 oz spaghetti (or pasta of your choice) Use your preferred type of pasta.
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Sauce Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) Add for heat.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley For garnish.
Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and optional red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the shrimp, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Combining
  1. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing everything together. If the mixture seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time.
  2. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley for a fresh finish.
Serving
  1. Plate your Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta, garnishing with additional parsley if desired. Serve warm.
