Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Mix until smooth.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
Serve warm with ice cream or dusted with powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
