Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a larger bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass, and sprinkle with sugar or sprinkles.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Serve these cookies in small portions. Pair with fruit or yogurt for a balanced snack. Store in an airtight container; add a slice of bread to keep cookies soft.
