Ingredients
  

Pasta and Broccoli
  • 8 oz pasta of choice Use whole grain or legume pasta for extra fiber and protein.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh broccoli for the best texture.
Flavoring
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds flavor to the dish.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Adjust amount for a lighter option.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated is recommended.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season according to preference.
  • optional Red pepper flakes For added heat if desired.

Method
 

Cooking Pasta and Broccoli
  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions.
  2. In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add broccoli florets to the pasta.
  3. Drain pasta and broccoli, reserving a little pasta water.
Sautéing and Combining
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet. Toss to combine.
  3. Stir in Parmesan cheese and add reserved pasta water if needed for moisture.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve with a side salad for a balanced meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
