Preparation
- In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
- Heat the corn tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side to make them pliable.
- Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture onto each tortilla and roll tightly.
Cooking
- If pan-frying, heat a generous amount of oil in a skillet and carefully fry the rolled flautas until golden brown and crispy.
- For baking, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), place the flautas on a baking sheet, brush lightly with oil, and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- For air frying, preheat it to 375°F (190°C), arrange the flautas in the basket, and cook for 10-12 minutes until crispy.
- Serve the flautas hot with your favorite toppings.
Notes
For a healthier option, prepare flautas in bulk and freeze them. Reheat in the oven or air fryer. Consider adding black beans for extra protein. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
