Preparation
- In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and break into smaller pieces as it cooks.
- When the beef is almost fully cooked, add diced onions and minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Stir in one jar of tomato sauce, let it simmer for a minute.
- Spray the inside of the slow cooker with cooking spray and layer some meat sauce at the bottom.
Assembly
- Layer uncooked lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, breaking them if necessary.
- Add dollops of ricotta cheese and sprinkle with mozzarella. Repeat layers until filled.
- Pour the second jar of tomato sauce on the top layer and add more mozzarella cheese.
Cooking
- Pour water around the edges of the lasagna.
- Cover and cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours until bubbly.
Serving
- Once cooked, remove the lid and garnish with fresh herbs.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
This recipe is great for meal prep. Make it in advance and reheat during the week. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze portions.
