  • 0.25 cups Light Brown Sugar Can reduce to 1/8 cup or omit.
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by spraying the inside of your large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray or use disposable crockpot liners.
  2. Season the trimmed boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Lay the seasoned chicken at the bottom of your crockpot.
Mixing and Cooking
  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, Worcestershire sauce, and light brown sugar. Whisk everything together until it’s well combined.
  2. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the crockpot, ensuring the chicken is well coated.
  3. Cover the crockpot and cook on high for about 2.5 to 3 hours or on low for 5 to 6 hours.
  4. Use a meat thermometer to check that the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, you can serve the chicken whole or shred it directly in the crockpot to soak up the extra marinade and sauce.
  2. Serve this delicious BBQ pulled chicken on buns for sandwiches, over a salad, or as a topping for tacos, nachos, or pizza.

Notes

This recipe is versatile; consider substituting chicken with turkey or adding vegetables like bell peppers and onions. It stores well in the fridge for up to five days in an airtight container to maintain moisture.
