Preparation
- Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Season the pork shoulder generously with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Place the seasoned pork on top of the onions and garlic in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
- Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the pork.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender.
Serving
- Shred the pork using two forks and mix it with the sauce in the slow cooker before serving.
Notes
For a healthier option, use sugar-free barbecue sauce. Leftover pulled pork can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
