Preparation
- Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta shells and cook according to the package directions.
- Drain and set the pasta aside.
Cooking
- Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and smoked sausage slices to the pan and sear until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the diced onion, red bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are fragrant and softened.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and heavy cream. Stir in the paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer on low for about 5 minutes to thicken.
Assembly
- Add the cooked pasta shells into the creamy sauce and toss until thoroughly coated.
- Before serving, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a healthier version, use whole-grain pasta and reduce heavy cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
