Method
 

Cooking Pasta
  1. Cook the penne according to package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
Sautéing Aromatics
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic for about 5 minutes until fragrant and onion is translucent.
Cooking Ground Beef
  1. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Stir for about 7 minutes until browned, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Making the Sauce
  1. Lower the heat and gradually stir in the heavy cream, mixing well. Add reserved pasta water little by little until desired sauce consistency is reached.
Combining Pasta and Sauce
  1. Toss the cooked pasta with the creamy beef sauce in the skillet until well coated.
Serving
  1. Serve the pasta hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese or fresh parsley if desired.

Notes
