Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and cheese.
- Layer the sausage or ham at the bottom of a greased baking dish.
- Add a layer of bread or hash browns.
- Pour the egg mixture over the layers.
- If desired, add vegetables and additional cheeses on top.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
Baking
- On Christmas morning, bake uncovered for about 30-40 minutes until golden and set.
- Serve warm and enjoy with family and friends.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. Freeze baked or unbaked casserole for up to 2-3 months.
