Ingredients
  

Brownie Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Mousse Ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream whipped
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped melted and cooled
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, melt the butter and mix it with cocoa powder and sugar until combined.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool completely.
Mousse Preparation
  1. Beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. Melt the chocolate and let cool slightly.
  3. Fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream along with powdered sugar.
  4. Spread the mousse evenly over the cooled brownies.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  6. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Best served chilled. Can be garnished with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or fresh berries. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
