- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.

- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this into the creamed mixture.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans gently.
- Use rounded tablespoons to drop dollops of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each.
Baking
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
Notes
For a heart-healthy version, substitute half the butter with unsweetened applesauce. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Experiment with flavors by adding cinnamon, coconut, or caramel bits for a twist.
