Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
- Grease a 20cm square cake tin and line the bottom with baking paper.
- Cut the butter into small cubes and break the dark chocolate into small pieces. Place both in a saucepan over low heat, stirring continuously until melted.
- Remove from heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the eggs and caster sugar until thick and pale.
- Stir in the cooled melted chocolate mix, then the flour and cocoa powder until well combined.
Baking
- Pour the brownie mixture into the lined cake tin and spread it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.
- Let the brownies cool in the tin for 5-10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut into 16 squares.
Notes
For healthy substitutions, consider sugar substitutes, almond flour, or adding nuts and dried fruits. Store in an airtight container.
