  • 1 cup Milk Use any type of milk as per dietary needs.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned and onions are translucent. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Add salt and pepper to taste and stir until smooth.
Layering
  1. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  2. Add half of the cooked beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
  3. Follow with a layer of shredded cheese. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese.
Baking
  1. Pour the soup mixture over the top layer of the casserole.
  2. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  3. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  4. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For a healthier version, use lean ground beef or turkey and whole potatoes instead of mixes. This casserole is great for meal prep and can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
