Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it starts to brown. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with sea salt.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let cool before cutting into bars and serving.
Notes
Serve warm for melty chocolate or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
