Ingredients
  

For the Treats
  • 4 pieces Paper Straws Cut in half to create handles for the treats.
  • 2 oz White Candy Melts Used for coating and drizzling.
  • 8 pieces Rice Krispie Treats Pre-packaged and unwrapped to save time.
  • 5 oz Red Candy Melts For the red stripes of the flag.
  • 5 oz Blue Candy Melts For the blue field of stars.
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles Used for decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Melt the white candy melts in the microwave according to package instructions, stirring every 30 seconds.
  2. Dip each paper straw into the melted candy and insert it into the smaller end of each Rice Krispie treat. Set on parchment paper to dry.
  3. Melt the red candy melts in the microwave until completely smooth.
  4. Dip half of each Rice Krispie treat into the melted red candy and let excess drip off. Place back on parchment paper to dry.
  5. Melt the blue candy melts in the microwave following the same instructions as the red.
  6. Dip the opposite half of each Rice Krispie treat into the melted blue candy and sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles while still wet. Place on parchment paper to dry.
  7. Re-warm the remaining white candy melts, pour into a ziplock bag, and drizzle over the treats.
  8. Allow all treats to dry completely on parchment paper before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free candy melts. Store in an air-tight container for up to a week. Treats are suitable for meal prep.
